The Australian Rugby League (ARL) has again implemented a national insurance program in 2007, managed by OAMPS Insurance Brokers Ltd, the appointed brokers and risk managers for the ARL.  This national program achieves the financial benefit of premium pooling and, most importantly, ensures that affiliated organisations of the ARL have in place appropriate insurance protection.

The first component of the cover is a Public and Professional Liability insurance program.  Clicking on the Public and Professional  Liability Insurance button will take you to a summary of the cover provided under the program.  This liability insurance is tailored to provide cover for the administration, promotion, organisation and conducting of rugby league.  Provided an organisation is only involved in sanctioned rugby league activities they will not generally require any additional public liability cover.  Should a club operate a full time Licenced Club they may require additional insurance protection for this operation.  For any queries and clarification on any matter you should call OAMPS Insurance Brokers (Leisure, Amusement, Sport, Entertainment, Recreation – LASER Business Unit), free-call 1800 SPORT 1 (1800 776 781) in your state (or click  the Information Request button, type in your details and submit – one of our staff will promptly make contact with you).

The second component of the insurance program is Personal Accident insurance (also known as Sports Injury or Player insurance).  Where this cover is implemented it provides specified benefits to players if they are injured whilst participating in Rugby League.  Whilst excellent value premiums have again been achieved through premium pooling via a national program, this cover has not been organised on a single policy basis - rugby league organisations need to organise this cover with OAMPS Insurance Brokers.  Click on the Personnel Accident Insurance button for details.  Whilst this summary of cover outlines what can be considered the “standard” benefits and sums insured, there is some flexibility that allows for variations to sums insured.

Again, please call your state office of OAMPS LASER for any queries or clarification in regard to this cover and also to receive details of premiums (or click the Information Request button)
